The southern terminus of the route is at its junction with the former route of State Route 24 west of Moulton. The route continues northward to State Route 227. ==Route description== State Route 101 is long. It travels through rural areas of Lawrence and Lauderdale Counties, and is aligned along a two-lane route. Until 1997, the southern terminus of State Route 101 was at its junction with State Route 24.() When State Route 24 was realigned along a route slightly north of its original placement as part of the construction of Corridor V, State Route 101’s southern terminus was not truncated.
